Winehouse's debut album, Frank, released in 2003, was critically acclaimed as well as a successful sales chart and was nominated for a Mercury Award. With his next album, Back to Black, released in 2006, he was nominated for six Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and won five. Thus, she broke the record for most award-winning female singer in one night, becoming the first British singer to win five Grammys.[4][5] She won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist on 14 February 2007, and was also nominated for Best British Album. It has been nominated for three Ivor Novello Awards: one in 2004 for Best Contemporary Song (lyrics and music) for "Stronger Than Me", one in 2007 for Best Contemporary Song for "Rehab", and one in 2008 for "" Best Lyrics and Musical Song for "Love Is a Losing Game". The album became the third best-selling album of the 2000s in the UK.[6]
Winehouse has at times been cited as key female musicians, instrumental in the rise in popularity of soul music, and reviving British music. His distinctive hair and clothing style inspired fashion designers like Karl Lagerfeld. The singer's drug and alcohol addiction problems were a regular in the news from 2007 until her death. During their relationship with his divorced wife, Blake Fielder-Civil, they frequently had legal problems for various reasons, and his wife was imprisoned for a short time. In 2008, Winehouse faced a series of health problems that threatened her career and life.[7][8]
Winehouse was found dead at her London home on July 23, 2011. After a long time, it was understood that the cause of death was alcohol poisoning[9][10]. His family and friends attended his funeral on July 26, 2011. His body was later cremated at Golders Green Crematorium.
