This wall object is made of Maple Tree seeds. In a single work, over 30,000 individual maple seeds are carefully processed. For me, this is a process where I completely isolate myself and work from a flow. It is very Zen, and has something meditative about it. This is also visible and tangible in the final result; a contemporary art object with a strong natural dimension, which in terms of appearance also has similarities with Ethnography.
The works carry the aspect of growth and renewal within them. After all, every seed has the potential to develop into a tree, and then to bear seed itself. Under the right conditions, something big can emerge from something small. How inspiring.
But if you hang the artwork on the wall in your living environment, it will radiate peace and serenity. Light, both during the day from natural light and at night from lamplight, creates wall art with a dynamic appearance. Amber Bijl is een hedendaagse Nederlandse kunstenaar. De centrale focus van haar kunstwerken draait om de natuur. Dit thema komt duidelijk naar voren in haar materiaalkeuze, evenals in de visuele esthetiek en tactiele kwaliteiten van haar kunstwerken. De natuur, met haar tweeledige karakter van een bron van energie en inspiratie, maar ook een symbool van groei, vernieuwing, rust en sereniteit, heeft een diepe betekenis voor haar. Door haar artistieke inspanningen voelt ze een diepe verbondenheid met de natuurlijke wereld.

Amber Bijl werd geboren in 1983, in Nederland. Ze behaalde een Bachelor of Fine Art aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, Nederland, en een Master of Fine Art aan AKV|St. Joost in Den Bosch, Nederland. Bijl exposeerde haar werken in de VS, het VK, Spanje, Duitsland, Frankrijk, Nederland en België.
