I was inspired by the fascinating history and beauty of this landscape that I am going to tell you about with my paintings.

A romantic and fascinating place, the Garden of Ninfa stands on the remains of the medieval town, where parts of the castle, antiquities and remains of churches characterize the landscape.
The origins of the city of Ninfa date back to Roman times, as a small agricultural centre. In 1300 the city was destroyed and sacked, plus the invasion of the swamp and malaria which forced the last remaining residents to abandon Ninfa.
Gelasio Caetani began the reclamation in 1921, renovating the ruins, including the tower, the castle and the town hall. The favorable microclimate of Ninfa proved ideal for the flourishing development of the garden, thanks to the high humidity guaranteed by the Ninfa river.
