"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.
Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

DES THILLIERS 0 GUIRY > DURANT DEUX SEMAINES LE LONG DE LA D 6014
Ce 2 août 2011, les jeunes amis de la Croix Rouge de Taverny ont gentiment travaillés à l'installation de leurs couleurs internationales sur un champ français Normand, à Authevernes. Très beau boulot avec les ballots ! Merci à la Croix Rouge et a Mr. Aurélien (l’animateur) pour cette belle journée si colorée positive….
Les festivités, autour de 1100e anniversaire du traité de Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, prennent un tour inattendu. Durant Deux semaines, des balles de paille, situées sur les champs le long de la départementale 6014, seront habillées aux couleurs ‘’Vikings’’.
Drôle de moisson cette année, du côté des Thilliers-en-Vexin/Authevernes. Si comme partout, les champs de céréales pullulent de balles de paille, dans ce coin du Vexin elles revêtent des habits colorés, intrigants … mais qui cadrent avec l’actualité.L’initiative en revient à l’association artistique ‘’Atelier du Pommier’’ (Guerny), qui a lancé un événement baptisé ‘’Land art’’. Comprendre ‘’Art des campagnes’’, le pendant rural du ‘’street art’’, l’art de la rue. Cette exposition de plein air s’inscrit dans le cadre des festivités, autour du 1100e anniversaire qui marque traditionnellement la naissance de la Normandie. Ainsi, les balles de paille sont ornées de tenues aux couleurs ‘’Vikings’’, rappelant les voiles des fameux Drakkar. Le lieu choisi ne doit rien au hasard. A la fois sur un axe très fréquenté –donc particulièrement visible – et traversant l’ancienne frontière séparant la Normandie des Francs, puis du Royaume de France, à deux pas de Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, aujourd’hui entre Eure, Oise et Val-d’Oise.
‘’Nous pensons à cet événement depuis longtemps, rapporte l’artiste Pierre Marcel, à l’origine de cette initiative peu banale. Nous avions déjà fait des premiers essais l’an passé, dans l’optique de l’anniversaire du traité. Notre but est d’interpeller les gens qui passent par là. D’ailleurs nous n’avons pas communiqué à ce sujet jusqu’à présent. L’effet recherché est vraiment la surprise et l’interrogation. Aux curieux, ensuite, de faire le lien entre cet aspect visuel étonnant et les voiles Drakkars’.
La préparation fut minutieuse, démarrant par la confection – en atelier – de bandes colorées. Il a ensuite fallut démarcher les propriétaires des champs visés, qui ont bien volontiers adhérés au projet. Après les répétitions en taille réelle, vient donc cette année la grande installation. Un temps bien évidemment lié aux cycles naturels, sachant que les champs vont devoir bientôt être libérés pour être rendus à leur vocation première, et à ceux qui les font vivres. La fenêtre de tir est étroite. Depuis quelques jours, des équipes se relaient ainsi, méthodiquement et joyeusement, pour mettre en place cette exposition géante. Plus de 200 balles devraient ainsi être habillées, pour une durée d’environ deux semaines. Dans le sens Les Thilliers/Paris, on devrait voir de tels spécimens jusqu’à Guiry-en-Vexin (Val d’Oise).

Pierre Marcel SCHMIDT, also known as Applestrophe, is an international painter specializing in ecological art. Born 35 years ago, he became an “ambassador of France” through his works focused on love and apples. His artistic journey took him to Miami Beach, Florida, where he left his mark in the heart of the historic Art-Deco district.
During his career, Pierre Marcel Schmidt has maintained a close link with three French regions, where he creates daily: Île de France, Normandy and Picardy. In addition, he devoted each summer to the study of the South of France, in particular Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer.
His professional career is rich in notable achievements. In the 1970s and 1980s, he began his career as a screen printer, then became a decorator, running a business with up to ten employees. His work consisted of beautifying Parisian restaurants and cinemas while promoting environmental protection.
From 1986 to 2005, Pierre Marcel Schmidt became an international decorator under the name Pierre Marcel, working in the United States, in Miami, Florida, with the company "Subject to Change". He contributed to the preservation and renovation of the Art-Deco area of Miami Beach, decorating stores, private and public spaces, as well as commissioned municipal murals. For seven years, from 1991 to 1998, he traveled to Moscow as an official American expert to create the scenery for the first tourist attractions and the new Moscow City Hall, while helping to train Russian students in trades of official decorators.
In 2001, Pierre Marcel Schmidt returned to France, this time as an ecological painter. He lives in Guerny, in Eure, where he works publicly to promote the Vexin Français Regional Natural Park. Since 2003, he has created daily artistic works in public art at the Salle du Prieuré in Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, a village linked to the history of the creation of Normandy during the peace treaty of 911 with the Vikings.
From 2013 to 2016, he also directed a workshop-gallery located in La Roche Guyon. Throughout his career, Pierre Marcel Schmidt, aka Applestrophe, has used art as a means of raising awareness of ecology and promoting French history and culture.
