Aoi Huber is an internationally renowned Japanese graphic designer and illustrator. Born and raised in Tokyo, she studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and later at Konstfack University of the Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. In 1961, she moved to Milan, where she collaborated with the renowned designer Max Huber, whom she married in 1962. In 1970, Aoi relocated to Sagno in the Canton Ticino, Switzerland, where she continued to develop her artistic career.
Aoi’s work blends her Japanese heritage with European influences, shaped by her interactions with notable designers such as Bruno Munari, Achille Castiglioni, and Mario Botta. Her artistic range spans from painting and etching to textiles, ceramics, toys, and books, all marked by a delicate yet joyful sensibility.
