Antonio Alves De Souza

Antonio Souza (1957), a Brazilian artist, lives and maintains a studio in the city of Praia Grande, in São Paulo. His works are often striking combinations of abstraction and expressionism, through the figurative.

His contemporary artworks portray everyday life full of symbolic elements, entirely thought-provoking and understandable to the viewer; rich in commentary and social meaning for those who wish to interpret them. Primarily in acrylic, Antonio's art presents unique perspectives and a larger-than-life attitude.

This award-winning artist's works are sought after. His art is regularly exhibited around the world. Antonio has exhibited his works since the early 90s at the Annual Visual Arts Salon in Praia Grande, where he won the Medal of Honor for Merit in 1993. A solo exhibition followed at Banco do Brasil Boqueirão, in Santos. Art Collectives at Galeria Coletiva Patricia Galvão in 1996.
