Albert Grosfeld

Grosfeld, Albert Johannes (Albert) (1931-), visual artist, graphic artist, painter. Albert Grosfeld painted abstract themes and landscapes, and was influenced by nature, which he impressionistically depicted in watercolors, oils, and pastels. He trained at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht, with Sef Moonen as his mentor. Albert Grosfeld also taught at the National Higher Institute for Fine Arts in Antwerp. A publication about Albert Grosfeld appeared in 1967. He was a member of various art associations, such as IKP International Art Promotion de Maasvallei. Grosfeld participated in several group exhibitions, as well as solo exhibitions. He once said: "In paintings, I only recognize myself, born from the hands of others." Beautiful paintings and tranquil watercolors emerged from his simple studio, equipped with painting furniture he had built himself. A friendly and hospitable man, an underrated artist.
