Alain HORLAVILLE est né à Paris
Etudes artistiques à Paris : Atelier Met de Penninghen, Ecole Supérieure des Métiers d’Arts.
De 1976 à 1978, il passe deux années au Brésil et participe à plusieurs expositions à RIO et à SAO PAOLO.
En 1992, constatant un réel regain d’intérêt pour l’art figuratif, il suit les conseils de ses amis peintres et amateurs d’art contemporain et décide de se consacrer entièrement à la peinture.
Il perfectionne sa technique en copiant de nombreux artistes anciens et modernes.
Il travaille le portrait et les techniques anciennes des peintres hollandais (glacis et transparence ) et se consacre à des thèmes précis :

Alain Horlaville est professeur de peinture ancienne à NEUILLY et à MONTMORENCY
Il enseigne les techniques hollandaises attribuées aux frères VAN EYCK basées sur l’alternance et les propriétés des couches grasses et des couches maigres (glaçais et transparence)
Il organise des stages d’initiation à la peinture ancienne de 10 jours en juillet et en août.
Sa peinture qui reste figurative bénéficie de ces techniques et se marie aussi avec d’autres techniques très contemporaines.
Il expose en permanence à la GALERIE GAVART : 5, Rue d’Argenson 75008 Paris
