Agnieszka Berger

Urodziłam się w 1967r. w Mediolanie. W latach 1987-1993 studiowałam na Uniwersytecie w Belgradzie Filologię Angielską i Jugosłowiańską. Moje zainteresowania krążyły wtedy wokół antropologii i tradycyjnych tańców. Po powrocie do Polski zajęłam się rzeźbą ceramiczną. Od 2001r. jestem członkiem Międzynarodowego Stowarzyszenia Artystów Ceramików Keramos. Od 2006r. r. mieszkam w Australii w Canberrze, tu tworzę i wystawiam. Od 2005r. związana jestem ze Stowarzyszeniem Ceramików Canberry.

I was born in 1967 in Milan. From 1987 to 1993 I studied English and Yugoslav Literature at Belgrade University. I undertook postgraduate studies in Warsaw from 1992 to 1994. My interests at that time revolved around anthropology and traditional dances. After coming back to Poland, I started to become interested in ceramic sculpture. Since 2001, I have been a member of the International Artists Ceramicists Society Keramos. Since 2006, I have lived in Canberra, Australia, where I create and exhibit. I have been a member of the Canberra Potters’ Society since 2005.

Jestem stworzeniem towarzyskim bardzo. Uwielbiam naturę, olbrzymie otwarte przestrzenie, dlatego dużo podróżuję. Obecnie, mieszkając w Australii jestem pod ogromnym wrażeniem, wszechogarniającej jaskrawości tutejszego światła.
Najważniejszy jest dla mnie codzienny kontakt z tym, co najbardziej lubię robić. A to jest lepienie. Ostatnio odkryłam też w sobie zapaloną ogrodniczkę.
Lubię poznawać nowych artystów i ich sztukę. Uwielbiam tańczyć i słuchać muzyki. Równie ważna dla mnie jest też dobra literatura, film, teatr, psychologia, jazda na rowerze, regularne tai chi lub joga

I am a very social creature. I adore nature and giant open spaces, that is why I travel a lot.
Living in Australia these days, the all-embracing light (brightness) of this place makes a huge impression on me.
What is most important to me is my day to day contact with what I like to do best, being to work with clay.
I also recently discovered in myself an enthusiastic gardener.
I like getting acquainted with new artists and their art. I adore dancing and listening to music. Good literature, film, theatre, psychology, anthropology, cycling and regular tai chi or yoga practicing are important to me as well
