✔ The painting is signed on the front and back. It is on a gallery-wrapped canvas with finished black edges and comes ready to hang. "Warm Shore" was conceived and started as an essential part of the painting by the winter of 2010, Island Studio, Jerusalem. Later, revisited and completed in Island Studio, Jerusalem, 2011.

About a series "Stalker":
Every one of us has dreams, colorful pictures away from where we are. We often assume that reaching our dreams will give us eternal happiness. But we lose our real goals in the process as it is a state more than a place, more than anything related to physical. It is a space of truth, and it has a bitter price. "Stalker" is more deliberately unrooted in the flesh, more removed from the experience of life. This series focused more on metaphysical and philosophical musings in the hope of finding a kind of personal transcendence.

The works in this period map the strange, alien landscapes of classic science fiction onto the canvas with a disorienting familiarity typical of the genre. Some pieces are entirely abstract, while others suggest clandestine ceremonies carried out by oracles or high priests. There's an illusory quality to Adonin's work as if the transparent layers of paint could collapse in on themselves and dissolve into nothingness at any moment.

About the artist:
Alexey Adonin explores the point of convergence between abstraction and surrealism to create a channel of communication between his inner world and the viewers, not only to share his personal vision but also and especially to invite viewers to elaborate their personal interpretations and narratives, establishing deep involvement both in the emotional aspect and in the intellectual one.

Artist Statement

Alexey explores the point of convergence between abstraction and surrealism to create a channel of communication between his inner world and his audience. He strives not only to share his personal vision but to invite his viewers to forge their own personal interpretations and narratives by involving them both emotionally and intellectually. His approach to his work is without preconception, allowing first for randomness. Alexey then takes advantage of the mind’s ability to derive order out of chaos. Finally, he strives to move away from banal copying reality toward creating one of his own—something that somehow reflects his inner world.

Biography

Raised in Eastern Europe, Belarus, the only child in a family of his mother, a building engineer, and his father, an art teacher, Alexey's artistic path began at a young age. He started attending Children's Art School drawing classes when he was nine. Alexey studied under the guidance of gifted teachers, including his father, one of his time's non-standard and advanced painters. Later, he went to an art college that further helped develop his artistic skills and gave him a sizeable practical base. In the early '90s, Alexey and his family relocated to Israel, where he resides and works today. Alexey has exhibited locally and internationally. His works have also been acquired by notable private collections worldwide. He has received numerous awards, most recently from Bruxelles Art Vue Foundation.
