La surface du tableau, à la fois texturée et structurée, évoque un territoire entre abstraction et mémoire. Les formes s’organisent en une architecture suggérée, comme une cité baignée par la lumière du désert, mais aussi comme un tissage où chaque élément s’imbrique et résonne avec l’ensemble.
L’œuvre explore la rencontre entre la matière, la lumière et l’héritage d’un savoir-faire ancestral. L’inspiration des tapis berbères de Taznakht se manifeste dans les motifs répétitifs et la richesse chromatique, qui rappellent les gestes des femmes tisserandes façonnant, fil après fil, des compositions où chaque teinte a une histoire. Ici, la peinture transpose cette tradition dans un langage pictural qui joue avec la fragmentation, la transparence et la superposition des éléments.
Les couleurs, intenses et solaires, inscrivent l’œuvre dans une atmosphère chaleureuse et vibrante. L’ocre et le rouge ancrent la composition dans la terre et la tradition, tandis que la lumière dorée semble émerger du fond du tableau, donnant une impression de mouvement et de vie. La superposition des formes et des textures crée une profondeur, un espace où le regard se perd et découvre sans cesse de nouveaux échos.
Par cette peinture, je propose une réinterprétation contemporaine d’un patrimoine visuel et tactile, en tissant un lien entre la mémoire des gestes anciens et l’expression picturale actuelle. C’est une œuvre où passé et présent dialoguent, où la ville et le tapis se confondent dans une même harmonie lumineuse.

Born in 1951 in Salé, a city near Rabat, I grew up in an environment steeped in history and artistic traditions. A corsair city with a fascinating past, Salé has always been a vibrant cultural center, where Sufi and popular music, refined craftsmanship and traditional architecture nourish a rich imagination. Growing up in this atmosphere shaped my artistic sensibility and awakened my taste for creation.
From a very young age, drawing has been a necessity for me. In Morocco in the early years of independence, the means of learning were limited, and only passion allowed progress. Armed with patience and curiosity, I explored the basics of line, composition and light on my own, developing an intuitive and self-taught approach.
Drawing has always been a common thread, but it was at the end of the 80s that my practice intensified with painting. Taming color, mastering the touch, understanding depth and the play of shadow and light... Each canvas became a challenge and a source of learning. The arrival of the Internet then opened up new perspectives, offering direct access to the works and techniques of established artists around the world.
For a long time, my painting remained an intimate process, shared with my loved ones. Despite their encouragement, it took me a while before I dared to exhibit my work. It was only in 2021 that I took this step, by joining a collective of artists who already had solid experience. This first group exhibition was well received, including by recognized painters, and was a real trigger in my career.
Since then, the exhibitions have followed one after the other, strengthening my approach and my commitment to creation. Today, I am enthusiastically preparing my next exhibition, which will be held in Paris in November 2025, a new step in this artistic adventure.
