Golden girl (a) (2014) Sculpture by Zygomalas

Christos Zygomalas was born in Athens and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Athens and graduated in sculpture. He has many one man show exhibitions and participations in group shows. He is a member of the Greek Sculptors Association and the Chamber of Fine Arts. He has distinctions in varius sculpture contests and has many installations in public places. In addition to sculpting he is also a painter.

The artist must be honest to himself. Making something of any type, style or tension must work with his heart.For me the final result is always the same, I must be satisfied of myself overall. I want to produce an artwork in which you and me have both taken finally equal satisfaction. Ι have passed through all styles and tensions and as a result I decided that the best is not coming from the brain but from the heart. In our days that I can name it the Empire of the Lies, when the politicians, the prists, etc are lying, it is importtant for the Art to keep the truth up. Let's dig once more again for the real things. There is a light which comes from the far past and keeps my concience alive and that light is the Ionian philosophers which are well known as the Presocratics, Heraclitus, Pythagoras, Zeno, Democritus etc. My parent's origin is from there and I really feel lucky. West has lost the contact with it's heart and this is propably the reason which will lead our civilization to an end. Clean heart, clean mind, clean vision and knowledge these must be our weapons. And don'd forget the ancient Greek advice "All in good measure", "l'excès nuit en tout" "ΠΑΝ ΜΕΤΡΟΝ ΑΡΙΣΤΟΝ" (pan metron ariston)
