DIPTYCH "GREAT WOMEN"

The idea to unite such different heroines, Eve and Persephone in a single plot, came not due to the search for their differences, but their similarities. Their similarity lies in the fact that both of these great women rule over the fundamental laws of the universe - life and death. Both of them received divine gifts-symbols, which brought them both great joy and great sorrow. They are united by duality, duality and ambiguity.

Having accepted the apple, Eve was doomed to bear children in pain, continuing the human race, instead of a carefree paradise life, but at the same time, Eve was granted the great joy of motherhood. The apple here acts not only as a symbol of the knowledge of good and evil, but also as a symbol of the knowledge of great goodness and great torment.

Having accepted the pomegranate, Persephone descended to Hades, to the kingdom of the dead, to rule there as the wife of the great lord Pluto. Giving consolation to suffering souls in the world of eternal darkness and sorrow - every spring she returns to the world of the living, bringing with her hope and joy of earthly life.

Great power and great burden in the hands of these great women, so different, and so similar in their mission. Each wing of the diptych is made in mixed media framed with decorative elements.

Shipment details: Supplied in a cardboard box. The painting is covered with acid-free glassine paper, wrapped in bubble wrap, sealed in plastic, sandwiched between two pieces of foam or corrugated cardboard shipping inserts and placed in a strong shipping box.

Tatyana Voskresenskaya is a contemporary mixed media artist from Russia. From 2011 to 2014 she studied at the Ryazan Art School named after Wagner, but left in her last year and considers herself self-taught. Her works are characterized by symbolism and depth, audacity and freedom of expression. Through her work, Voskresenskaya expands the boundaries and brings a new look at traditions and contemporary art, reshaping and formatting the familiar and relevant through experience and deep knowledge. She is inspired by extraordinary and vivid images, provocative themes, inner freedom, which she transfers to canvases. The art of living and the art of being yourself are her most important values.
