Our world is a precarious one and full of great peril. Throughout history, strong men, women, and children have survived numerous ferocious obstacles. This time in history is no different.
We are resilient. We confront. We overcome. We thrive.
One of my goals in painting is to comfort the disturbed by evoking a sense of hope, and conversely, disturb the comfortable and unaware. To that end, I am Passionate about creating images relating to current events, social, political, environmental, and health issues, hoping they will activate feelings of urgency that sound a call to action with the viewer.
I have written an accompanying haiku for each of my current works, that the viewer may read to facilitate further emotional engagement.

Torenzo Gann is an internationally award-winning fine artist, writer, photographer, and commercial art film producer. Torenzo is a native of Michigan where he majored in illustration at Kendall College of Art and Design, Grand Rapids.  After completing his first year, Torenzo left Kendall to pursue his studies in painting, photography, creative writing, and filmmaking.

As an artist, I believe I also have a responsibility to create works of art that bring attention to important societal issues such as chemicals as food additives, toxic chemicals used in the industrialized production of crops, and genetic engineering. I’m also concerned about the current trend in America to whitewash our history to oblige the politically correct community.
