On February 24, 2022, I woke up at 5 am to the sound of explosions and my life was divided into before and after. It turned out that while I lived peacefully in my Ukraine, engaged in art, created cartoons, planned the future and spoke Russian - in neighboring Russia inflamed hatred for Ukraine, hatred for Ukrainian language, appropriated the culture of Ukraine and denied the very existence of the Ukrainian nationality and called the people who speak Ukrainian in Ukraine - Nazis. Just imagine - the Russians started bombing the cities of my Ukraine and killing Ukrainians to save me and Ukrainians like me who speak Russian language from imaginary "Ukrainian Nazis". I speak two languages, Russian and Ukrainian, but now I want to forget Russian, because the people who kill my Ukraine speak Russian and believe that we are fraternal peoples only because of a common language. I have never been too patriotic, I just love my country and I want it to develop and have a worthy place among the civilized countries of the world. I have never hated the Russians, but since February 24 there has been an abyss between us that will not be overcome by ten generations of our peoples.
The painting "Free Ukraine" is my sincere wish. The first week of the war I could not eat anything, could not sleep and could not create anything. And then I came across Giorgione painting "Judith" and started working on the painting "Free Ukraine". It helped me get out of the abyss of military depression.
Now I want to talk about the symbols of this picture.
In the background of the picture is a view of Kyiv from Volodymyrska Hill Park - a park built in honor of Prince Volodymyr the Great, who baptized Kievan Rus and whose coat of arms later became the coat of arms of all of Ukraine. I often walk in this park and I took the landscape of Kyiv from one of my photos. The yellow and blue flag of Ukraine symbolizes the yellow wheat field and the blue sky.
In the center of the picture, a female figure is Ukraine, on her head is a wreath - the national Ukrainian headdress, in which I used two colors - black and red. These colors are from the revolutionary flag of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, where black is the Ukrainian chernozem and red is the blood shed for Ukraine. Her clothes are embroidered shirts based on national costumes, but modernized. Under the left foot of Ukraine Putin's severed head. Putin's head has no eyes, because eyes are a mirror of the soul, and Putin has no soul. I hope my painting will be prophetic.
Oil painting “Free Ukraine” took part in the collective exhibition "COME BACK ALIVE!"

I come from Poltava, it is a cozy city in the central part of Ukraine, with a rich history. In 2009 I graduated from Poltava National Technical University. Y. Kondratyuk (PNTU), Faculty "Architectural", Specialty "Fine and decorative arts"There I was taught to create sculpture, graphics and painting. After graduating from university, in search of work, I moved to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, where I still live.

Painting is my passion, when I start to paint a picture it is like meditation and music helps me in this.

I have two sisters and two cousins, and probably this is what taught me to appreciate female beauty. Everyone in our family is beautiful and each individuality. Among my two sisters, I am the younger one and I really liked to watch how my sisters change and mature, how they bloom like flowers and become more and more beautiful every day. But a woman is not only her beauty, it is also emotions of happiness and sadness, sexuality and sensuality, strength and passion, anger and even revenge. I like to watch how women move, how they laugh and talk, female plasticity is incredible. The main series of my paintings at the moment is "Dessert Girls", where in portraits I convey female beauty emphasized by desserts made of ice cream, fruits, berries and chocolate. But in my paintings you will also find seductive women with snakes and warrior women with swords. I love to praise women's beauty and I want to dedicate my artwork to it.

I like to work in the technique of old masters without using paint solvents, all my paintings are painted exclusively with oil.

For paintings, I use oil paints and canvases stretched on stretchers. I like to use pastel colors, especially blues and pinks, they remind me of the sky at sunset and go well with desserts. I also like the combination of deep blue, red and black colors, for me these are the colors of passion.

My favorite artists are Boris Vallejo and William-Adolphe Bouguereau and they left an imprint on my perception of female beauty. Usually, when I paint one picture, I'm already planning several more. I want to reveal to the world many small images of beautiful, passionate, gentle, strong, militant and even dangerous women. The purpose of my work is to give joy. I want people to smile while looking at my paintings, I want to make people happy and give positive emotions, because only kindness can save the world.
