Sylvie Bayard, alias Sylvestre, is a contemporary French painter. Figurative painter, with a narrative tendency, sensitized with the environmental topic and the bonds which the man weaves between nature and culture, her recent work on series is moving towards an approach more committed, in obvious relation with the world of the man and his environment, sensitive and vital. Her work is organized around images and facts of society, civilization, and therefore culture, applied on and in facts of nature, and the interpretation of the resulting upheavals.
Because living in the Anthropocene era (defined in 2000 by Paul Crutzen), means living in a non-linear and unpredictable world, it is important for the artist to testify on the experience that defines us as a cultural actor immersed in the natural field of our living space.
Sylvie Bayard has showcased her art in numerous exhibitions across France and Germany. Her paintings grace private collections in the USA, Israel, and Hong Kong.
