Work Experience: Here Sayali modeled for elder sister while Sanskriti modeled for younger sister. Sayali is niece of Mrs.Supriya's teacher Mr. Sunil Deshpande. She is mature like any elder sister while Sanskriti is very bubbly and innocent like a younger sister. It was a perfect combination. Whenever Sayali came to Pune to visit her uncle, she took out time for sittings and devoted 12 hours every day for sculpting. She is very calm and composed and cooperative which accelerated the work and her sculpture was completed in 8 days.
While Sanskriti being young and restless, could not give more than three hours per day for sittings. Her stubbornness was a blessing in disguise for Mrs.Supriya. It breathed life in her sculpture. Naturally it required more time for completion - one full month!
Sculpture is defined as a manually crafted specimen displaying beautiful artistic features and serving a specific purpose but in reality sculpture is much more than this definition. Sculpting is supposed to be the most difficult form of art. It is live and expressive due its dimensions. And we can understand extent of skill and command on a material required for creating a live sculpture.
It is like breathing life in stone or fiber. A sculpture has to have this ability of a creator. Ability to create universe from lifeless fiber. This skill can not be taught or imbibed, an artist is born with it. One such born young artist is Mrs.Supriya Shekhar Shinde.
Mrs.Supriya believes that every event, every occasion tells you something. Even if they are routine chores, they have a story to tell. Every human reaction is an expression of certain feelings. We experience love, affection and caring, warmth every moment. This is real. And can be expressed only in realistic style of sculpture.
It is said that behind every successful man there is a woman. In Mrs. Supriya's case, it is a Man, her husband Shekhar. Mr. Shekhar Shinde is the first aficionado and a real critic too. Mr. Shekhar's dearest dream is Mrs. Supriya wins national an international approval, accolades and awards. She should set new benchmarks in the field of sculpting.
