Sophie's world is neither purely figurative nor purely abstract. He mixes influences between expressionism, abstraction, pop art, street art as well as materials. We thus come across oil painting, collage, acrylic....sculpture.
Sophie does not campaign for a cause or for a mode of pictorial expression. Through her various works, she claims only one message: "Put sweetness wherever you can, Always keep your child's soul."
The implementation of this gentleness cannot be satisfied with a single technique so Sophie Goureau uses them all depending on the desired effects. For her, manufacturing secrets do not matter, what matters above all is the image rendered, this little piece of herself that she reveals to us despite her great modesty and shyness. She does it willingly despite everything because she knows that what remains after an exhibition are not her choices nor the world as she sees it but only your way of seeing, of considering her work and of feeling it.
She likes to think that the light of a work has its source only in the eyes of its spectators. So thank you all for being there to highlight her work and for also leaving her, as she humbly wishes, her little dark side, the one that allows everyone to make their own choices...
