Shalo "De Saghatel is an award-winning contemporary Armenian artist and teacher. He paints with a palette knife and brush on various surfaces using oil paints and pastels. Using different shades of backgrounds, he gives his work a sense of depth. Shalo's work is described as a mixture of realism, modernity and impressionism.  

"Everyone asked questions: what is art to me? What motivates them, what exactly interests them? It is difficult for me to answer these words. questions, and I try to answer them with my creativity.
Tell us about yourself. Born in Armenia, graduated from school in Russia, and entered the Orenburg Art School. I work as an art teacher in a children's art school and in a high school. Recently I started painting on dark canvases.  I am interested in expressing my feelings, attitude towards the world and communicating with my audience through painting. When exhibiting my work, I, of course, want to know what others think about my paintings. I take part in youth exhibitions. In my free time I like to travel and go hiking."
