Nesse movimento se encontra a "Action Painting" (Pintura de Ação ou Pintura em Ação). Também é conhecido como "pintura gestual, como disse o crítico Harold Rosemberg no ano 1952 pra falar das obras de pintores como Jackson Pollock, Frans Kline e WQillem de Kooning.
O que considero mais interessante nesta forma de expressão é que nem o artista sabe oque irá surgir, pois isso só acontecerá quando a obra estiver totalmente pronta.
