Moonset Boulevard

“Moonset Boulevard” is een surrealistische schilderij.

De basis vormt een voorstelling van een schilderij van Gustave Caillebotte, Rue de Paris, temps de pluie uit 1877.

Gustav Cailebotte was een Frans schilder en mecenas. Hij leefde van augustus 1848 – februari 1894. Hij begunstigde het werk van de impressionisten financieel en trad later zelf ook toe tot de beweging. “Rue de Paris, temps de pluie” was een van zijn bekendste werken.

Robert van den Herik was onder de indruk van het schilderij. De personages van het beroemde schilderij kwamen terecht in een typisch schilderij van Robert van den Herik.
In een woestijn op een verlaten planeet. Langs de weg staat een kasbah.
De door Robert ontworpen staande lamp is ook prominent aanwezig. Met acrylverf geschilderd in 2020 op doek.

Robert Van Den Herik is a contemporary Dutch artist. Drawing inspiration from magical realism and surrealism, particularly from the works of Carel Willink and Salvador Dali, he embarked on his artistic journey. Following his education at the Design Academy Eindhoven, he initially pursued a career as a product designer for different companies. It was during this time that he introduced his own innovative product called the Shantala baby bath, revolutionizing the way babies are bathed.

As his artistic exploration deepened, he delved into the realm of "Art versus Design." He began creating lighting fixtures, furniture, and garden decorations, all meticulously crafted by hand. In these creations, aesthetics often took precedence over functionality, allowing his artistic vision to flourish.
