L'essence de bois est inconnue. Les fendillements, les trous de vers et les nœuds font partie intégrante de l’œuvre et lui donne un charme personnel d’authenticité et de pièce unique. La couleur est une dilution de peinture acrylique laissant paraître la nature du bois en dessous, le tout recouvert d’un vernis Liquitex lustré.
