Reidulv Lyngstad was born and lives in Norway. He has been both a teacher in photography at colleges, been a photographer for 32 years as well as workshop holder and photo artist. He has among other awards achieved 5 gold medals in international competitions. His passion for photography started in the early 1960-ies when he built both his own darkroom and enlarger. And tried out several alternative darkroom techniques. By now he works with digital camera and computer. After being a pensioner he now consentrates with photography as art. His main genres are artistic nudes and abstracts. Conserning nudes he works a lot with light/shadow, form, lines and composition. Sometimes even the figurative figuer becomes abstract. The abstract/abstracted images are often made out of failed shots which he takes into a software and plays around until he find, for him, a good result. He also uses the camera in untraditional ways to obtain abstract motives out from something real.
