At the beginning, my eyes barely reached the level of the table when I filled kilos and kilos of sheets of drawings and accumulated mountains of dinosaurs in modeling clay... and then it was later, at the age adult, that I took the name Raffu.
Once graduated from French and then British art schools and after different periods of creation: Sculptures, installations videos and super 8 exhibited across Europe, some time spent in Africa and Thailand making documentaries, illustrated books on pigs then on Senegal, a remake of Babar the Elephant in animation for the theater, frescoes for children and a few meditation retreats in Burma, I ended up devoting myself to my favorite occupation: painting large surfaces.
My first graffiti was in Barcelona in 2004 The artist's squat that I occupied with a few companions was about to be demolished by the town hall to build parking lots. I then painted on three floors a porcine character looking like a Hulk who threatened the neighborhood with a large mass and a bubble saying “you are next!” » ... the following year, in fact, the entire area had been destroyed.
Since that day I have tried to create works that resonate with society where I live. It's actually the best way I've found to feel connected to the things and events that often seem so strange and distant but ultimately define us so much.
Thus my artistic universe is made up of surrealist erotic figures, obese pigs gorging on junk food, cherubs armed with Kalashnikovs and flamethrowers or macabre scenes of political assassinations... in short, it doesn't only talks about our dear modern world.
