«Ева и ее автор» содержит тех же персонажей, но на этот раз в зеркале мы видим отражение Евы, в то время как сам художник сидит лицом к зрителю. При этом в работу умышленно включена неестественность зеркального отражения и его несоответствие привычным законам физики, что еще больше усиливает гротескный характер замысла, как символ подражания неприятию естественных форм в работах самого Х. Сутина. На столе, покрытом скатертью, все та же газета, позволяющая установить принадлежность художника к местечку Смиловичи, а на боковых гранях скатерти усматриваются все те же художественные символы иудаизма в стиле другого еврейского мастера живописи – Натана Альтмана.
