Artist and photographer Oleg Kaplan was born in 1967 in Moscow, in the family of the painter Yaroslavna Kaplan and the writer and screenwriter Joseph Kaplan.
Oleg Kaplan’s creativity is carried out in many directions: Oleg is actively engaged in painting (acrylic, oil), photography glass, object, model, genre and landscape. One theme gives way to another, gaining strength in each vector of movement.
Oleg Kaplan, an artist who takes his searches beyond the “border”. The artist fully reveals the expression of a “living person” in his work. In masters of such exceptional originality, we are attracted by the authority of the individual, the seriousness of the task taken, the reckless willingness to sacrifice oneself for the sake of one’s artistic truth.
Reflecting the spirit of the time in one’s works is a necessary condition through which the author realizes his reconciliation with the world around him. Painting is as a challenge, as a way to transform existing reality, as a search for an extraordinary, new, different reality.
Currently Oleg Kaplan lives and works in Moscow, paints, teaches photography, collaborates with galleries.
