BLUE MOUNTAINS

Blue Mountains is a series of monotypes inspired by the Cévennes landscape.

Each work transposes on paper this play of shadows and lights so particular to the region. At times, touches of color arise to honor the resistant and courageous character of people who have been visited by a strong breath of the Spirit: the Huguenots.
Through original printing techniques and a poetic and contemporary presentation, viewers are invited to immerse themselves in this territory of refuge to rediscover the sacred heritage that inhabits it.

Noémie Pons is a contemporary Canadian artist based in France. Her body of work serves as a poignant plea for a rediscovery of the sacred. In her artistic endeavors, Pons delves into the irreducible dimension of the human being - a realm that is both intimate and collective, forging connections between individuals. Through her evocative pieces, she leads viewers on a journey to these forgotten territories, encouraging contemplation of the invisible, the intangible, and the mysterious aspects within each person.

Pons's art is a canvas of discoveries and an exploration of openness to the vast and infinite. Her work transcends the limitations of the self and the confines of our individual smallness, transporting us to a space of pure beauty that exists beyond our immediate realities. Each painting becomes a portal to the immense, the magnificent, and the extraordinary - a call to look beyond ourselves and embrace the expansiveness of existence.

In Noémie Pons's hands, art becomes a medium through which she invites observers to reconsider their perspectives and engage with the profound aspects of the human experience. Her work serves as a visual ode to the sacred, prompting a collective reflection on the interconnectedness of humanity and the transcendental qualities that elevate life beyond the mundane. Through her expressive and thought-provoking pieces, Pons encourages a deeper exploration of the invisible threads that bind us and the mysteries that reside within us all.
