Erik Satie earned a modest living as pianist and conductor at the “Chat Noir”, but after a disagreement with the owner, he ended up as a second pianist at the nearby inn “Auberge du Clou”. Erik Satie earned a modest living as pianist and conductor at the “Chat Noir”, but after a disagreement with the owner, he ended up as a second pianist at the nearby inn “Auberge du Clou”. In this place Satie first encountered the flamboyant, self-styled "Sâr" Joséphin Péladan, for whose mystic sect, the “Ordre de la Rose-Croix Catholique du Temple et du Graal”, he was appointed composer. This gave him scope for experiment, and Péladan's salons at the fashionable Galerie Durand-Ruel gained Satie his first public hearings.

Almost all my paintings are inspired by books or music, they are a tribute to a certain author, composer or artist and his/her work. Of course I would be happy if a painting encourages someone to read the book or listen to the music.
All works are ready to hang. The ecoline paintings are framed with a frame of your choice: light oak or black aluminum. The paintings have a passe-partout and a plate of glass on the front. Oil paintings have a wire on the back so they can be hung.
