Ce portrait représente un moment de ma vie où j’étais traversé par des événements familiaux difficiles comme certains peuvent en vivre. Je n’en dirais pas plus, je veux juste expliquer le contexte dans lequel ces peintures ont été réalisées.
En outre, il a été réalisé en parallèle de ma vie professionnelle en tant qu’infographiste à l’époque chez S3G GRAPH à jurançon.
Je voulais retraduire les expressions de sérénité et de douceur que je ressentais dans ces visages car j’étais à la recherche de cette sérénité pour transcender ma douleur.
J’étais admirative et reconnaissante de ce que pouvaient exprimer ces personnes sur ces photos alors même qu’elles connaissaient aussi de grandes difficultés de vie et de précarités. J’étais admirative aussi par leur esprit de compassion et le fait qu’elles soient heureuses ensemble et surtout présentes.
Pourquoi le Zanskar ?
C’est par hasard un jour que je tombe sur des photographies d’Olivier Föllmi à Cultura au rayon des livres. Le coup de cœur s’opère en regardant ces photos. C’est comme si d’un coup, je pansais un peu, mes blessures intérieures, je me sentais mieux, j’aimais ce que je voyais et ce que je voyais, c’était la complicité vraie entre des êtres, leur attachement réciproque et la force de cet amour.
Je décidais alors d’acheter le livre et de peindre ces portraits qui m’avaient déjà tant donné pour tenter de retraduire cette émotion que j’avais ressentie picturalement.
C’est après que je réalise que tous ces visages plus expressifs les uns que les autres habitent dans cet endroit qui est le Zanskar et où je rêve un jour de me rendre.
Depuis, j’ai acheté d’autres livres, tous très intéressants spirituellement et visuellement parlant; un joli mélange d’esthétisme mêlé à beaucoup d’expressions et d’émotions.
Ces tableaux inspirés d'après des photos d’Olivier Föllmi ont fait l'objet d'une demande d'autorisation auprès d' d’Olivier Föllmi lui-même avant de pouvoir les exposer et les vendre.
