The moment before the start of a thunderstorm. Streams of gusty wind walk across the cloudy milky sky. They curl up in a ball, rise up and fall down on the rye field. The yellow color of the field contrasts with the violet-blue sky. It seems as if the rays of the sun, a minute ago, gilded rye, are now emitted from itself.

Two thunderclouds froze in silent confrontation. The first thunderclaps are not yet heard, but an exciting foreboding has already hung over the swaying rye field. Whirlwinds sway bright yellow ears. They rise and fall like the waves of the sea in a storm.

The sun went down behind the clouds and painted them in violet and dark blue tones. Lightning lurked in the coal-black thick. Just about, the first deafening roar will be heard and will carry its primal power over the waiting field. This all-consuming stream will absorb particles of sunny rye and warm earth, aromas of wild herbs and rain freshness. Moreover, it will carry it in a many-sided ragged tangle across the thundering expanse. However, so far everything is quiet, and the air, thick with anticipation, smells of earth and bread.

Air currents are depicted using semicircular strokes. They are directed towards the center of the composition and sharpen the eye on the inevitable collision of thunderclouds. The drama of the picture focused on this exciting moment. The swaying rye field merged into a single bright yellow canvas. His shudder from gusts of wind was conveyed using a textured embossed overlay of paints with a palette knife.
