In this captivating abstract portrait painting, the fusion of vibrant colors and bold symbolism creates a stunning portrayal of an Afro woman.

Divided vertically, the composition reveals two distinct halves, each with its own unique interpretation.

On the right side, the woman's visage emerges from a rich chocolate-colored canvas, exuding strength and elegance.
Her hair is depicted as half of a pineapple, its distinctive texture and shape merging seamlessly with her natural beauty. Rendered in a mix of black and white tones, this side of the painting evokes a sense of timeless sophistication.

Contrasting with the subdued tones of the right half, the left side bursts with an explosion of color and energy.
Here, the woman's hair is depicted as the other half of the pineapple, but with a vibrant array of hues splashed across the canvas. The colorful palette symbolizes her vivacious spirit and celebrates the diversity of her identity.

Adorning her ears are earrings with intricate pineapple designs, adding a touch of whimsy and refinement to her ensemble.
Against the backdrop of a sleek black canvas, drips of yellow and pink paint cascade down, adding an element of dynamic movement to the composition.

"Pineapple Queen" is not just a portrait; it's a celebration of individuality, strength, and the beauty found in embracing one's roots.

Through its striking imagery and symbolic elements, the painting invites viewers to explore themes of identity, culture, and self-expression.

Originally, this painting was made using Digital art (AI art).

Jafeth Moiane is a versatile Mozambican artist, working as a painter, sculptor and photographer. He currently lives and works in Mozambique, where he has developed his artistic talent since childhood.

Jafeth Moiane started drawing and painting in 1976, while studying in primary school. From the following year, in 1977, he was already passionate about the art of painting. In 1984-1985, he took a painting course to learn the techniques of drawing in pencil, watercolor, oil and acrylic. Later, in 2013, he also took a batik painting course.

Since 2007, Jafeth Moiane regularly participates in exhibitions across Mozambique, where he presents his varied artistic works.

Currently, the paintings of Jafeth Moiane are dedicated to the people of the CABO DELGADO province, in the PALMA district, in northern Mozambique, where the French company TOTAL is building the largest oil and gas project in Africa and the world. Women and children are brutally killed there by terrorists. Since 2017, tens of thousands of people have been killed and more than 700,000 people have fled to other parts of the country with nothing, only their clothes. It is a humanitarian crisis.

Jafeth Moiane's paintings are a cry for the end of this genocide, for peace and the development of his country, Mozambique. He uses his art to raise awareness of this tragic situation and to raise his voice for the well-being of his people.
