Maurice Fhima, born in Tetouan, Morocco, in March 1929, began his artistic journey with studies that led him to the School of Fine Arts in Tetouan. Under the guidance of the renowned Spanish orientalist painter, Don Mariano Bertuchi (1884-1955), Fhima immersed himself in painting and drawing classes.
In 1951, his talents were recognized as he secured the painting and sculpture prize. Continuing his artistic education, Fhima specialized in sketches and portraits at the Academy of Painting in Barcelona, Spain.
Notably, in October 2000, he achieved the 1st Prize in the "Do Painting on the Pont des Arts" competition, showcasing his mastery in the "Oil Technique" category. Currently residing and working in France, Maurice Fhima's artistic journey reflects a rich tapestry of experiences and accomplishments in the world of fine arts.
