As a child, drawing and painting was a great passion. In the end, it became a Psychology study at Tilburg University. After this study, painting was a wonderful outlet. After that, Maartje also started painting on commission.
In addition to painting on commission, creating free work with complete freedom in creativity and ideas is the most beautiful thing there is. Inspiration overtakes her at the strangest moments and she can't wait to get started in her studio. The happy feeling you get when making a painting is amazing!
These mixed media paintings paintings are contemporary paintings. Maartje is particularly intrigued by women's faces, expressions, colors and hairstyles. The possibilities are endless.
All paintings are made with acrylic paint and are made with different techniques. Maartje uses many natural materials such as shells, which she will find herself on the beach and feathers that she encounters on the street during a walk with the dog. But other natural materials such as wood and leather are also used in these modern paintings.
The finish with lots of gold, shine and epoxy gives these works of art a glossy and luxurious look!
