Luigi Basile was born in 1981 in Crotone, territory of the ancient promontory of Ancient Greece. Since he was a child he has shown a great passion for drawing, which was inspired by his mother’s daily artistic taylor work. He therefore decided to attend “Jewellery and Metal Art” classes at the High School for Art and specialized in the ancient technique of copper overhang. Here he began his experimentation and his artistic research.
Since 1999 Basile’s artistic career concentrates on human figures and what they are surrounded by. His figures are not faceless or expressionless characters, but able to give rise to emotions and sensations. His works of art are the result of a process which melts together research, creativity and innovation. They are unique in its genre as he plays with techniques creating new formula to obtain extraordinay oxidations.
They have been involved in various national and internation exhibitions, including Milan, Rome Paris, Shanghai, Monaco, Montecarlo, Moscow, St. Petersburg etc. They are shown in many public and private collections. Luigi Basile has participated in important exhibitions, projects, and artistic events, winning several awards.
