"Everyone knows that the ball is a symbol, by means of which, already in the distant, distant past, people expressed the most secret secrets of the universe. When the ball was freed from sacred meanings, it began to be widely used in the art of the 20th century to this day. But it has been used it is already in terms of a game experiment, where the artist, as it were, discovers the secrets hidden in the shape of a ball, <...> People have always sought to find out what is hidden behind the surface of an object, and for an artist, for example, another ball is often hidden behind the shell of a ball, the principal nesting doll or womb.
The artist uses this principle for various incarnations, seeking to express the tension or secrecy of one form in another in a kind of sculptural intrigue," says world-famous artist and sculptor Mikhail Shemyakin in his study "The Ball in Art".
The painting by Lyudmila Korets depicts a circle, which itself is a symbol of time - a clock, and another spherical object is placed in it - the full moon. The background, also known as the clock face, is painted dark blue. The hands of the clock singled out the dark period of the day into the blue sector, cutting the night almost like a triangle, but at the same time without violating the integrity of the clock circle itself.
Air, space, movement - three tasks, like three whales, are invariably set by the artist in each created work and successfully completed in this work. A complex Passepartout, consisting of many circles superimposed on each other, complements the picture with new shades: yellow and blue and continues the perspective, scattering the moonlight with rays. "Fine art is the ability to create an image, not to depict something" - the main artistic principle of the artist. The image of a moonlit night is clearly presented in the picture. The artist has a higher art education, many years of experience in teaching painting, winner of many competitions. Lyudmila's artistic miniatures are in private collections in Russia, the USA, France, Holland, and Australia. Artworks are made in the technique of art-stroke hemstitch, invented by the author in the late 1990s. Embroidery here is a way of conveying an idea, as well as a means of creating perspective and a color spectrum. The perception of the image becomes more voluminous if compared with the painting.
The three main tasks for constructing a pictorial composition of an embroidered picture for me are: space, movement and air. The combination of elements of the constructivist trend in art with a picturesque rendering of air space helps me convey a sense of the inner emotional movement of thoughts and feelings. Geometric forms do not give a direct reference to the comparison with recognizable states of nature, but allow us to understand and convey the inner feeling through color combinations. The movement of simple geometric shapes in the air space, created by the picturesque combination of threads, can be associated with natural or emotional states.
