For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. Sur un sol façon parquet bois se dessine l'ombre portée d'une fenêtre et la lumière jaune clair qui l'éclaire. Au centre et vers le haut de la toile, grignotant la lumière de la fenêtre, un bol emballé dans un tissus est posé au sol.
Vers le bas à gauche, quelques petites fleurs roses et blanches jonchent le parquet. Sous le bol, vers la droite, un fil de lin dessine discrètement un mouvement courbe qui passe sous le bol et réapparait au dessus de lui.
Un Oryoki est un ensemble bol, tissus et couverts enveloppé dans un tissus de couleur qu'utilisent les pratiquants du bouddhisme zen pour prendre leur repas.

Painting Pastel

Pastel is an instrument widely used in plastic arts. Taking the form of a colored plastic stick, it is composed of pigments, a filler (chalk or plaster) and a binder (gum arabic, oil, wax). We mainly distinguish fatty pastels (oil or wax), dry pastels, whether soft or hard. Invented in Europe at the end of the 15th century, this tool was very quickly used by great portrait painters of French royalty, such as Charles Le Brun, Rosalba Carriera, Jean Siméon Chardin or Maurice Quentin de La Tour, who will be considered the "Prince of pastellists", thanks to a method of fixation of which only he knew the secret.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Paint made with colored powder suspended in a liquid binder to obtain some paint or ink.

Collages

Collage is an artistic creation technique that consists of making a plastic creation by combining elements of various kinds: more or less flat materials, such as printed oilcloth, painting or drawing, newspaper extracts with text and photos, paper paintings, documents, various objects of low relief, etc. When the creation incorporates elements in relief, one can also speak of assemblage. This also includes glued papers, which employ a variety of papers, including newspaper, and drawing techniques.

Liliane Bordes, a contemporary French painter, embarked on her artistic journey with a strong foundation in the arts. In 1975, she earned a baccalaureate with a focus on artistic, literary, and art history, setting the stage for her future endeavors in the creative realm.

From 1975 to 1978, she pursued her passion for art and design by enrolling at ENSAAMA, the School of Art and Design. Her major in textile design marked the beginning of her formal education in the visual arts, laying the groundwork for her future creative pursuits.

Subsequently, from 1978 to 1984, Liliane ventured into the world of textile design. She gained valuable professional experience as a designer at the Kientz workshop and later at the Calisti workshop in Paris. Her career path continued with a year as a freelance designer, showcasing her versatility and creativity in the field.

As her artistic journey evolved, Liliane sought new avenues of creative expression. She transitioned to roles as a window dresser and decorator, drawing inspiration from hands-on experiences and the exploration of design beyond textiles.

Between 1985 and 2001, she found her niche as a salaried display designer, contributing her artistic touch to leading fashion brands and various products, including luggage, shoes, sweats, and phone systems. Later, she transitioned into self-employment, where she worked as a window dresser, designer, and decorator for approximately a decade. During this period, she rekindled her love for painting, improvising large painted backdrops for window displays. Her dedication to her craft extended to furthering her studies in drawing and painting, solidifying her commitment to the visual arts.

Siice 2001, Liliane Bordes has been nationally recognized as a muralist painter. She has lent her artistic talents to municipal projects, construction companies, and private contracts as a muralist subcontractor. In her free time, she developed a personal portfolio of paintings, further enhancing her artistic repertoire.

In 2013, Liliane embarked on a personal pictorial journey, marking a significant turning point in her artistic career. Three years later, in 2016, she concluded her career as a muralist painter, fully dedicating herself to her personal pictorial research. This transition allowed her to delve deeper into her own creative vision and explore new horizons in the world of painting.
