The painting is based on the film "The Man and His Dog" with Jean-Paul Belmondo. The picture reflects the spiritual portrait of the protagonist at the moment of confrontation with the modern world, in which money rules, and the essence of spiritual qualities loses its value. Being a captain in the past, and having a connection with the natural elements, the sea, it is unbearably difficult for the hero to be in a society where people are forced to crawl, but he defends his position. At the same time, a person experiences deep loneliness and maintains a relationship only with his dog, which is the personification of true spiritual values and sincerely loves the owner.
The soul is like a wanderer in this world, but despite the fact that it comes and goes completely alone, it feels the need to love and be loved.

Kseniya Scher is a contemporary artist, originally from Belarus. Initially pursuing art as a hobby, she studied in various artist-led workshops in France and Italy before, in 2018, deciding to immerse herself more deeply in art on a professional level. Kseniya went on to study the subject in depth with a number of Russian masters and now she regularly participates in exhibitions in the city and interacting with collectors worldwide. Although Kseniya is a relatively young artist, her career highlights include participation in international exhibitions including “Global Conversation” in honor of 75th anniversary of the UN, art fairs in Zurich and Paris and an art show in Michigan. She has received special prizes in China, publications in the magazines dedicated to art in Europe and Japan.

For an artist, art is a constant process of development and Scher has used visits to many places where great artists lived, worked, and were inspired to create their master works, to further her own understanding of the creative environment and process, and of the emotional impact of the artists’ works.

Her own style has developed through a range of genres, from classicism, through expressionism, to her now-preferred milieu of abstract expressionism. Although she has gained critical acclaim for her works in every style, she finds the emotional depth and energy of abstract art especially rewarding.

She loves to use bright, cheerful colors, to experiment with shape and texture and to pay close attention to emotions in her paintings.

On her creative path, Kseniya is assisted by creative director Aleksandr Dolyuba. Together they devise various concepts and collaborate to embed both symbolism and philosophical messages into their works.
