Figurative oil paintings by Jonas Kunickas. The artwork captures a back of motionless nude female figure. The painting is called - Om. Om is a sacred sound and a spiritual symbol in Indian religions. It signifies the essence of the ultimate reality, consciousness. More broadly, it is a syllable that is chanted either independently or before a spiritual recitation in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The meaning and connotations of Om vary between the diverse schools within and across the various traditions. It is part of the iconography found in ancient and medieval era manuscripts, temples, monasteries and spiritual retreats in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism

Jonas Kunickas is a contemporary Lithuanian artist. With the human figure as his main topic, he investigates how light is used and how bodies are perceived, resulting in a general aesthetic that is characterized by shape and shadow.

He experimented with and independently researched a wide range of painting techniques in order to develop his own style and method. He no longer uses brushes for his oil paintings; instead, he has settled on using an oil paint and a pallet knife.

Jonas Kunickas was born in 1978, Lithuania. His paintings are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Australia, Lithuania, Russia and many European countries.
