Mary Magdalene, the Apostle, the closest and most devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and possibly his girlfriend and wife. Texts in the Bible suggest that after his crucifixion she may have been the first to discover the empty shroud in the Garden Tomb that bore only traces of his body. Mary still felt strongly his presence in the cave which could later be described as his resurrection. She may later have given birth to his child which continued the royal bloodline. Sangreal. Mary is canonized as a Saint in several major denominations.

Jon Bøe Paulsen is a contemporary award-winning Norwegian painter. Over the past forty years, his neo-realist portraits have brought him recognition on an international market. Paulsen uses sparse lighting and a limited color palette in his paintings to make his subjects remain longer in the viewer's mind. He paints to tell unique narratives with strong characters.

Jon Bøe Paulsen was born in 1958, in Norway, where he graduated from The Norwegian State Academy of Arts Oslo. Paulsen has participated in over 60 exhibitions in the USA, UK, and France, in addition to a number of group and solo exhibitions in Norway. His work was the subject of a documentary that was nominated for the 1990 Amanda Award for Best Documentary.
