Jean-Pierre Craninx is an emerging abstract painter, follower of black monochromatic painting.
He was born on 06/01/1965 in Waremme, near Liège in Belgium.
In addition to a multitude of training courses in various techniques, he graduated from the Haute Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-arts Saint Luc de Liège, in plastic, visual and space arts.
He was a professor of design and technology but now devotes himself fully to abstract painting.
His main reference is Pierre Soulages but also, on a subsidiary basis: James Austin Murray, Gerhard Richter or Giancarlo Bargoni.
He gives himself no technical limit to create "his" blacks. Acrylic is mainly used but also epoxy, oil, tar, mineral coatings ...
The structured effects of materials are also the subject of special attention in his work.
He can thus set in vibration several blacks side by side and yet very distinct.
His work is truly "artypical" because, for him, light is an integral part of the work and participates in the endless multiplication of it.
