Jean Claude Hedouin is a contemporary German painter. Painting is, above all, a practice for Hedouin. He's always believed that the more limited the methods, the more vivid the emotion, which explains why black is almost exclusively used.
Black and white appear to him to have the simplicity, absoluteness, and rigor that he prefers. Hedouin paintings are similarly focused on the primeval battle of light and shadow and plays with the duality of black and white. The refusal of description appears to him to be a recurring theme in the progression of his paintings. Painting is, first and foremost, a poetic experience to him.
Jean Claude Hedouin was born in 1961, in Germany. He has exhibited in France, Germany, Bahrain, and the United States.
