Ivan Korshunov is a contemporary Russian painter, known for his mastery in the hyperrealistic style of painting. Born in Russia, he graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov in 2007, followed by completing his studies at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Moscow, in 2003.
A member of the Moscow Union of Artists, Ivan Korshunov has earned recognition for his artistic contributions. He was honored with a grant from the Ministry of Culture in both 2007-2008 and 2016. His academic achievements are underscored by the title of Doctor of Art Criticism.
Korshunov's works have found homes in private collections across the globe, including Russia, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Latvia, England, the State Art Museum of Novosibirsk, and the National Museum of Beijing, China.
Devoted to the hyperrealistic style, Ivan employs the old three-stage method of painting, believing it to be the most organic complement to the philosophy of his work. Ivan Korshunov's artistic prowess has been acknowledged through various awards and accolades, including a Diploma from the Ministry of Culture of Russia for high professional achievements in the arts and the Gratitude of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. Additionally, he holds two Gratitude awards from the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow.
He clinched the II Prize at the "IV Russian competition of young artists named after Pavel Tretyakov" held at The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. His achievements also encompass the Gold medal of VTOO sign "Union of Russian Artists" and a Laureate Diploma from the All-Russian art exhibition "Young Artists of Russia" in Moscow.
Notable recognitions further include being on the long list for the Strabag Art Award 2014 in Austria and being shortlisted for the All-Russian Competition of Young Artists UNTITLED PRIZE 2018.
Since 2019, Ivan Korshunov has been prominently featured in the All-Russian investment rating "Top-100 Recognized Artists of Russia" by InArt. He also holds a place on the list of the Best Contemporary Artists of Russia (ARTEEX).
Collaborating with prestigious galleries worldwide, Ivan has exhibited his works in Fine Art Gallery (Moscow), A-S-T-R-A gallery (Moscow), Orleansky Gallery (Amsterdam), Happy Art Museum Gallery (Riga), Art 21 Gallery (Geneva), Young Gallery (Beijing), and GALERIE SONIA MONTI (Paris).
