However, this time everything happened according to plan. I wanted to get my idea through, to give the viewer my perception of the winding highway in the taiga forest near Lake Baikal, and I made a clear, readable picture. The view from above emphasizes the flatness, which I consistently adhere to in almost all of my compositions.
I was an interpreter for a group of foreign guests in the late 1970s; they had an entertaining and educational helicopter flight over the virgin taiga coniferous forests in the Lake Baikal region. It was just on that morning that the first snow fell; the views were unforgettable, they sunk into my soul, and 35 years on, I depicted what was deep in my memory and feelings. It is a generalization, an idea, not a realistic landscape.
Why is the road red? - These are the laws of building a picture as a composition, as a combination of color shapes on the canvas.
