"Natura morta: September 11, 2001" - Paper, gesso, glass bottles, metal, acrylic colours, shellac.
Born from my personal ideas on the tragedy now a symbol of the new century. The image of New York, the big apple, served on the plate for the sacrifice.
Human lives, perished on September 11, become, with a tragic game of words, the “natura morta” (two meanings in Italian = “dead nature” and “still life”) of the title.

This artwork is part of the series Still life which includes: Don Quixote, Family snapshot, Little blue apple, The curtain, The rite.

Certificate of Authenticity included.

Autodidact. I am particularly attracted by the Shape: the shape of things, the body, the volume, that I try to reproduce, in their details or synthetically or in an abstract manner: either by means of a pencil or a pen that, through the chiaroscuro, the shades of gray or nuances of colour, allow me to recreate their volume and their structure; or by manipulating and modelling simple and of common use materials, sometimes unusual, in a creative process that can also be a real challenge to find a personal way to use them.
I do hope the wievers feel at least some of the emotions that I experienced and that led me to create my work.
