It is an original copy of the famous Chinese painter Shitao who lived in 1642-1707.
This artwork is a spontaneous style of Chinese Ink Painting.
I used ink and water only. Here you can see the many shades of ink in leaves and flowers.
The chrysanthemum, together with the plum blossom, orchid, and bamboo have been regarded as the four symbols of noble characters by Chinese scholars since ancient times. Chrysanthemum, in particular, has many meanings.
Chrysanthemums symbolize a long and happy life.
The chrysanthemum blooms in the cold autumn air and foretells the coming of winter, which symbolizes the virtue to withstand all adversities.
The painting is signed on the front a red Chinese seal that means "Always Blessed".
This painting was hand-painted, using Traditional Chinese tools and materials: Chinese Black Ink and Chinese mineral paints on special rice Xuan paper.
