Landscape Malerei von Hasan Vecih Bereketoğlu

Hasan Vecih Bereketoğlu was born in 1895 on Rhodes Island. After completing his primary education in Egypt and high school education in Rhodes Island, he started studying at Istanbul Darülfünun Faculty of Law. Due to his interest in art, he took painting lessons from Halil Pasha between 1916 and 1920. He pioneered the establishment of the Fine Arts Union and served as its president for a period. The artist went to Paris in 1922 and continued to study art at the Julian Academy. He returned to Turkey in 1923 and served as the President of the Kadıköy Community Center. He moved to Ankara in 1943 and started working as Presidential Department Manager. He is generally known for his paintings with views of Istanbul. He especially chose to focus on Fenerbahçe, Kurbağalıdere and Göksu districts. In these paintings, it can be seen that he was influenced by Halil Pasha, Hikmet Onat and Nazmi Ziya Güran. During the years he spent in Ankara, he focused mostly on still life paintings.
