Gitty Amani, born in Tehran in 1942, married, 4 children.

Her father was an executive at the Iranian Railway Company. Due to work, the family had to move to a different town along the railway lines every few years, which meant that she and her siblings had to change schools each time.

As a little girl, she made her own dolls from cotton fabrics and wool and designed them according to her imagination, just like normal dolls from the old days, without ever having seen such dolls before (lifelike human replica) and sewed clothes for them. She discovered her talent for painting and designing in primary and secondary school and practiced it constantly in order to constantly improve. Therefore, over the years at school, she developed into the best painter and textile designer in her classes. In Tehran she learned the tailoring trade and worked independently.

After marrying her German husband in Tehran at the end of 1968 and acquiring German citizenship, she came to Germany in early 1969 and initially lived in a small town in the Rhineland until her husband finished his engineering studies there. They then moved to Düsseldorf for work-related reasons, where they lived until the birth of their first child.

From 1976 the family lived in Jakarta (Indonesia) with 2 children for two years and then moved from there to Munich. During this time, Ms. Amani devoted herself intensively to art, occasionally taking courses in France and England with very good artists in order to further promote her talent.

In 1985 the family with 4 children bought their house in Lohhof. During this time, Ms. Amani passed the exams to become a master tailor in women's crafts at the Chamber of Crafts and ran a small studio in Munich for a few years. However, her interest was always directed in the direction of painting and fine arts and she deepened her knowledge of this autodidactically with the help of specialist literature and well-illustrated books on art and detailed instructions for creating your own works in a wide variety of painting techniques and plastic shaping.

As an artist, she does not like to stay in one style, she always paints according to the respective feelings and moods with ever new variations and diverse motifs. Her repertoire ranges from classic to modern to the writing of icons and shapes of textile works of art. For many years she tirelessly created sculptures in clay, papier-mâché and Ytong aerated concrete in addition to her countless paintings of all kinds.

A few years ago, however, she also became increasingly interested in art photography, in which she developed into a true master, also self-taught using a digital camera and specialist literature, but especially with an alert and imaginative eye for the unusual. Especially through macro shots and unusual perspectives, her photographic works of art show her very personal view of the often everyday things that surround us. By means of digital post-processing and alienation, she often creates true photographic works of art from mundane shots.

Ms. Amani was an active member of the Unterschleißheim artist palette for many years and presented her art to the public in several annual group exhibitions here in the foyer of the town hall. In addition, she worked for a number of years in a renowned group of artists in Oberschleißheim and designed several group and individual exhibitions in the Munich area and in southern France. For 11 years now she has been teaching painting courses in acrylic mixed media and collages at the adult education center (VHS-Nord).

In addition to Unterschleißheim, she has also been living in southern Italy since 2006 and is happy to take on commissioned work.
