TORTUE LUTH (2012) Sculpture by Denis Thebaudeau

Student of Max FIGEROU, Françoise BOUDIER, and François TAMALET, I mainly work on the modeling of live models with originals in terracotta or patinated plaster, with a marked preference for portraits and busts. Resolutely figurative, I seek a form of truth of the being that I sculpt. For several years, I have also been interested in animal sculpture. I also create works in direct carving on wood and stone. Interested in the technique linked to the creation of my sculptures, I reproduce some of my works in bronze or aluminum in an old-fashioned artisanal foundry where former founders taught me sand casting . For around ten years I have been running modeling workshops for amateurs and professionals.
