Peinture "Vague Méditerranéenne"  - Acrylique sur toile
Tableau original - Format 33X22cm - 2021

Painting "Mediterranean Wave" - Acrylic on canvas
Original painting - Format 33X22cm - 2021

Figurative painting, a wave rears up and breaks on a beach in petite Camargue (Languedoc-Occitanie), in the bay of Aigues Mortes. The sky is clear, a few clouds dot the horizon.
A breeze tears foam off the crest of the wave.
A stroll and photos of seaside near Montpellier inspired me this painting.

The Gulf of Aigues Mortes is the northernmost part of the Gulf of Lion, generally between the municipality of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone and the municipality of Grau du Roi, at the tip of Espiguette

This small-sized gulf borders the territory of the municipalities of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone (in its eastern part), Palavas-les-Flots, Mauguio (Carnon) and La Grande-Motte, all four located in the department of Hérault, as well as the territory of the municipality of Grau du Roi, (up to the point of Espiguette), located in the Gard.

Pintura "Ola Mediterránea" - Acrílico sobre lienzo
Cuadro original - Formato 33X22cm - 2021

Je me présente rapidement : j'ai 46 ans.

David Quant - painter and photographer

Let me introduce myself: I am 46 years old. I live in the south of France near Pézenas in the Hérault.

Freelance photographer for 16 years, I have worked for the press (Géo, L'Express, ...) of large companies (construction, real estate, etc.) and public bodies (Occitan region, tourist office, etc. ..)

Passionate about the sea, sailing and nature, my work in painting currently focuses on the theme of waves, breaking waves and more generally seascapes in acrylic or oil.

These subjects where light and water interact through a multitude of reflections, colors, sparkles and textures are for me a source of inspiration and joy.
