Diplômée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, membre de la Société des Explorateurs Français, ex-grand reporter de guerre, Claudie Baran a couru les vents, chevauché le monde pour le restituer à travers ouvrages, carnets de voyage, peintures et sculptures.
Artiste plasticienne, elle restitue sa vision forcément dystopique et résolument anthropocénique de l’humanité (insaisissable et profondément informe) et de son rapport aux écosystèmes naturels.
Le végétal, continuellement mouvant, reflète une image fluide, changeante aux contours incertains. Les notions de plasticité laissent percevoir le caractère versatile du bourgeonnement, de la floraison et de son inhérent dépérissement.
Artiste plasticienne, elle restitue sa vision de l’humanité à travers des icônes, peintures et sculptures. Elle récolte des crânes dans sa forêt de Brocéliande qu’elle sublime à la feuille d’or, rendant ses lettres de noblesse à l’animal rendu à Dame Nature.
Par extension, elle travaille sur l’altérité de la vie. Passionnée par Les Vanités (une vanité est une représentation allégorique de la mort, du passage du temps, de la vacuité des passions et des activités humaines) et de Cabinets de Curiosités, ses crânes sont aussi le miroir de la pensée, le reflet de l’âme.
